The Serbian Garbage Transfer Station
This story is based on what may happen when my diapers and I go to the Belgrade, Serbia garbage transfer station for disposal when the time comes.
One of the transfer station videos below:
This Serbian Daycare agreed to diaper me for 14 days until it was time to dispose of my diapers and I. The Serbian Garbage Transfer station also agreed to take my diapers and I so, the Serbian trash collectors agreed to take my diapers and I there along with all the other trash and diapers.
I went to Belgrade Serbia to be disposed of with my diapers, onesies, sleepers;
A Serbian Daycare said they would diaper me until it was time to dispose of my diapers and I.
The daycare reluctantly agreed to change my diapers for me for 14 days before that week's trash day. Once I arrived with all my diapers, onesies, sleepers I was taken to a crib where the staff member helped put as many of my packs of my plastic-backed disposable diapers underneath.
I was quickly taken over to one of their diaper changing tables where I was helped up and onto it then layed down on my back. Then my shoes were taken off, and tossed aside. Then my pants were unbuttoned and removed. My pants were placed with my shoes. Then my onesie was taken off and set aside before the staff member began to unfasten the tapes on my diaper.
Me: Miss? Where do....all of the wet cloth diapers go?
Daycare Tech: The wet cloth diapers usually go into a separate diaper pail and later get washed, but yours, yours are being disposed of with the wet disposable diapers.
Me: Why do my wet cloth and disposable diapers need to be disposed of?
Daycare Tech: The wet cloth and disposable diapers are being disposed of because they are no longer usable or necessary. They have been soiled and cannot be reused or reused.
Me: How come I am being disposed of?
Daycare Tech: The reason you're being disposed of is because there is no longer a need or use for your diapers, and you or your diapers cannot be re-used. So you and the diapers are being disposed of as part of the process.
Me: So, even my leftover clean cloth and disposable diapers are all being disposed of?
Daycare Tech: Yes, even your leftover clean cloth and disposable diapers are being disposed of with you and the other used diapers.
Me: Do you care if my diapers are wet or not when you put me into the daycare trash with all the other diapers?
Daycare Tech: Since the diapers are being disposed of, whether they are wet or not is irrelevant. They will all be getting compacted into the trash compactor anyway.
Me: They will?
Daycare Tech: Yes, the diapers and anything else in the trash will be compacted into the trash compactor.
Me: The trash men don't care that my diapers and I are in the trash?
Daycare Tech: As far as the trash men are concerned, everything in the trash is the same to them - waste or debris that needs to be disposed of. So, whether your diapers and you are in the trash or not doesn't matter to them.
Me: So, my diapers and I are going into their trash truck regardless?
Daycare Tech: Correct, the daycare trash, including your diapers and you, will go into the trash truck with the rest of the trash.
Me: How long will I be in the daycare trash with all the other wet and dirty diapers?
Daycare Tech: The length of time you'll be in the daycare trash with the other wet and dirty diapers depends on when the trash pickup day is for the daycare center.
Me: When will I be going into the daycare trash?
Daycare Tech: You'll be put into the daycare trash a few days before the designated trash pickup date for the daycare center.
Me: Then the diaper trash gets taken outside to the daycare's main trash?
Daycare Tech: Yes, the diaper trash (including your diapers and you) will be taken from the daycare trash cans outside and then placed into the trash truck along with the rest of the garbage on the daycare's designated Trash Day.
Me: Do I get to choose what diapers I wear for disposal?
Daycare Tech: No, the daycare staff will decide what diapers you wear for disposal.
Me: Can I save my diapers in my crib until it's time for my disposal?
Daycare Tech: Yes, you can keep your diapers in your crib until the time for disposal.
Me: Why do...you stuff all of my used baby wipes into my clean diapers?
Daycare Tech: The used baby wipes are being stuffed into your clean diapers because there is nowhere else to put them. It's common practice for childcare facilities to include used baby wipes in the diapers that are being sent out with the other disposed-of waste.
Me: So, my diapers are being used like trash bags?
Daycare Tech: Yes, basically, your diapers are being used as trash bags to contain the used baby wipes and any other trash or trash-like items.
Me: So, trash day is on Fridays so, since today is Monday, and I am supposed to be here for 14 days, to use up as many of my diapers as possible, I take it that I may end up in the inside daycare trash with all the diapers on either Tuesday or Wednesday?
Daycare Tech: Yes, your estimation that you will be in the inside diaper trash by Tuesday or Wednesday is most likely correct.
Me: So, who takes the trash outside to be emptied? The Cleaning staff and Janitors?
Daycare Tech: Yes, the cleaning staff and janitors typically take the trash outside to be emptied into the dumpsters.
Me: Do the cleaning staff and Janitors care about my diapers and I?
Daycare Tech: The cleaning staff and janitors are focused on their job, which is to keep the daycare clean and functioning properly. While they may see you and your diapers as part of the trash to be taken out, they do not specifically care about you or your diapers beyond performing the tasks assigned to them.
Me: What if I were to play with the diapers in the trash while waiting to be taken outside?
Daycare Tech: If you were to play with the diapers in the trash, it would not affect the cleaning staff or janitors' tasks. As mentioned previously, they may simply see you and your diapers as part of the trash to be taken out, not necessarily as toys to be played with.
Me: Um, will I have any choice when my diapers get checked and maybe changed?
Daycare Tech: It depends on the daycare center's policies and procedures. However, usually, the staff at the daycare center would be responsible for changing any diapers, including yours. The decision of when and how often to change your diapers would be up to the daycare staff.
Me: They must check them often because they seem to change them often
Daycare Tech: Yes, it is common for daycare staff to check and change the diapers of the children they are caring for regularly. This is done to ensure that the children remain dry, comfortable, and hygienic. Typically, the frequency of diaper changes is determined by the age and needs of each child, as well as the daycare center's policies and guidelines.
Me: Even if my diapers are just a little bit wet?
Daycare Tech: Yes, even if your diapers are only a little bit wet, the daycare staff, being responsible for your care, may decide to change your diapers to prevent any potential discomfort or irritation. It's also important to remember that frequent diaper changes can help prevent diaper rash and keep the skin clean and healthy.
Me: So, my slightly wet cloth diapers are going into the daycare trash cans with my mostly dry disposable diapers when changed?
Daycare Tech: Yes, when the daycare staff changes your diapers, both your slightly wet cloth diapers and mostly dry disposable diapers will be put into the daycare's trash cans. The staff will likely combine them with any other trash from the daycare, such as used baby wipes, to be disposed of together.
