The Garbage Man

A story about two garbage men who operate a Lodal Evo semi-automated side loader garbage truck on a residential route that has a lot of diapers and home-based daycares. Bi-weekly, these two garbage collectors encounter several home-based daycares who often have diapered disposees to dispose of. This is how they handle it......

Garbage day is on Fridays each week in this neighborhood where there are a lot of home-based daycares along a long stretch of residential road. Six whole long blocks worth of distance between streets. The Garbage company had a color coded toter system; Grey toters for diapers only, blue toters for Recycling only, black toters for trash only, red toters for Biological Waste green toters for Oganics and the yellow tubs for Glass
The homes who had daycares in them, had up to six grey toters to use weekly, and a blue toter, a green toter, a black toter and a yellow tub. Most other homes had the usual black, green, blue and a yellow tub. There were four home-based daycares right next to one another in a row along this stretch of residential road. Each week, they set out between three or four grey toters, usually over-filled somewhat. Three of the daycares also had diapered disposees to dispose of weekly or bi-weekly.

Goldie Locke's Daycare was the second home-based daycare and Strawberry Short-cake Daycare was the third. The Newell Daycare was the fourth and the White Cloud Daycare was the first. The Goldie Locke's Daycare accepted diapered people up to age 25 that were disabled under a government funded program that paid them to literally diaper then dispose of the diapered disabled person on one of the trash days. The daycares that disposed of their designated diapered boys or girls, would either put them out into the toters or walk them out to the curb together on trash day. Adam was one of the people that was left with Goldie Locke's Daycare with the daycare having sole custody of Adam and full ownership of all of his things, 2,000 cloth pre-fold diapers, 60 onesies, 50 sleepers, 30 pairs of plastic pants, rubber pants, and over 3,000 packs of his clean disposable diapers of various brands and sizes as well as his 6,000 packs of his booster pads, his disability jogger stroller and the teo diaper bags, one with his cloth pre-fold diapers and plastic and rubber pants in it and the other with some of his clean disposable diapers in it along with matching bottles of baby powder, two packs of baby wipes.

Goldie Locke's Daycare Director: Hi there, Adam, welcome to Goldie Locke's Daycare.  I am Sharon, the director and this....is Shannon one of our day staff. Shannon will be taking you...little one over to your assigned crib and getting all of your diapers, clothing sorted through and then brought over to your crib and your changing table.

Adam: Why is my mommy leaving me here? Am I being disposed of with all my diapers?

Shannon: Afraid so sweetie. Your mommy and Daddy probably can't afford the diapers and are tired of diapering you.

Adam: So...my mommy doesn't want me anymore?

Shannon: Nope. She signed you over to us and we have you now until it's time for your disposal.

Adam: How is the daycare going to...dispose of my diapers and I?

Shannon: Well....on disposal day, you and your diapers, clean or wet, go into one of those (pointing to a row of ten toters that are filling up with wet cloth and disposable diapers as well as onesies.) Toters over there and that...is where you have to stay until the janitors come and take the diapers and trash out. If for some reason you miss the janitors, I will hand you over to the maids who will walk you out to meet the nice trash men who will be disposing of you and your diapers.

Adam: I....have to....go into....one of those.....trash cans?

Shannon: Yes, you....do, along with all the wet cloth pre-fold diapers and the disposable diapers along with any opened packs of disposable diapers that are deemed unsanitary.

Adam But, but...what if I don't wanna be disposed of?

Shannon: You don't have a choice baby. When it's time for disposal,  you are going in with all the wet cloth and disposable diapers no matter what. I don't care if your diapers are wet, stuffed full of baby wipes and old wet cloth pre-fold diapers! You and your diapers are being thrown away! That's that!

Adam: When am I being disposed of?

Shannon: Well, when we get custody of you awarded to us, then that will determine when your disposal day is. Right now, we have temporary physical custody of you. For now, you will use up as many of your diapers as you can until it's time for your disposal.

Adam: So...I could be here for two weeks to a month before my diapers and I get thrown away?

Shannon: Hmmmm that sounds about right but it could even be sooner than that if the director wants to get you and your diapers thrown away sooner.

Adam: Sooner? But...why would they do that?

Shannon: Well, for a few reasons, we might need the crib you're in for someone else or maybe it's just time to get rid of things.

Adam: Do...the janitors and the maids care if my diapers and I are wet, dry, clean or dirty for disposal?

Shannon: Um, no....they don't.  The janitors will simply come empty the diapers from each can in our nursery then while they empty your can, they will toss you into their stinky trash cart and take you to the next nursery to collect more and more diapers until they get close to the trash room where the trash is stored until the dumpster is emptied or has enough room in it for more diapers.

Adam: Why do....the maids come and take some of my clean cloth diapers from my crib?

Shannon: To use as rags in their cleaning duties.
